January 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Step into the future of shoe design, where art and science collide, in this mind-blowing in-person event on January 27, 2024!

The award-winning Czech footwear designer and technology researcher, Oldrich Voyta will discuss the relationship between art, beauty, craftsmanship, modern technology, aesthetics, and comfort in designing shoes. Oldrich is inspired by the lines of the human body and based on the biomechanical principles of movement from which he also derives the design.

The new Czech First Lady of the Czech Republic, Eva Pavel, wore shoes designed by Oldrich at the presidential inauguration in March 2023 in Prague.

Oldrich Voyta holds his MA in Footwear Design at Tomas Bata University in Zlin (TBU) and is currently pursuing his PhD in the Technology of Macromolecular Compounds at the Faculty of Technology at TBU. His research concentrates on women’s high-heeled shoes with a 3D cushioning membrane. Oldrich lived in Beijing, China, as a leading designer at VO5 Design Studio and Product Design & Technology Studio DeFacto for several years. For his design contributions to the Air-Purifier by ATMPBLUE project, he received the 1st Red Dot Award 2018. His work is regularly presented in the Czech Republic and worldwide: Beijing Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Milano Design Week, Consumer Electronic Show – CES in Las Vegas, etc. Oldrich is inspired by the beauty of the human body lines, based on their biomechanics systems.
